New Year’s resolutions and wishes, some of us make ‘em and some of us don’t. Here is what I figure to be the low down at my house this year.

Beatle (who has a few extra pounds) would like to see the food bowl out all the time and never empty. She enjoys exercise when we are playing with toys, we just do not seem to get her calorie count down enough to see the benefits in terms of weight loss. Most of last year she received limited food twice a day so much to her dismay the bowl was empty most of the time.

Beatle and Turtle would like to see Tomato spend less time with his feet and toys at play in the community water bowl, it’s tough to get your thirst quenched when the bowl is splashed empty just a short while after it was filled with fresh water.

Tomato would like to see the shower left on more so he can play in it. Even when the shower is off he has to keep an eye on his “territory” so Turtle does not jump onto the rim or heaven forbid get in the tub, making it even more urgent to nip her heels to get her out of the tub.

Turtle would also prefer that no one walk around inside her house with big shoes. Big shoes can accidently step on small toes that might be in the way. Bare feet or socks seem to be ok for indoor activities.

My resolution is to figure out an easier way to manage feeding time. I need to feed Beatle her urinary food and the other two the adult cat food. Beatle is the one that needs to lose weight, so extra food for her is a “no-no” especially the regular adult cat food. So far this year, mornings include Tomato eating out of everyone’s bowl, especially the special urinary food if he can get it. Feeding kitten food was a lesson in futility for the same reason; he wants everyone else’s food.

Good luck to all the other Pet families out there feeding special food and working to keep Pets on their weight loss programs.
